Where the work actually happens
Daily Life Practice
Twelve ordinary situations, run through the same simple frame: the catalyst, the unconscious reaction, the conscious choice, and the balance of love and wisdom.
Discernment: Daily life is the real field of catalyst. Beware spiritual bypass: ideas that never touch your relationships, your body, or your responsibilities are decoration.
The catalyst
Someone disagrees with you, sharply, in a way that feels personal.
Unconscious reaction
Defend, escalate, or shut down. Score points or go silent.
Conscious choice
Slow down. Listen for what is actually being said underneath the tone.
Service to Others
Stay engaged, tell the truth kindly, and let the other person be wrong without humiliating them.
Service to Self trap
Win the exchange. Use being right as a weapon, or use silence as punishment.
Love / wisdom balance
Compassion keeps the heart open. Wisdom keeps the truth in the room.
For reflection
“Am I trying to be heard, or trying to win?”
Sit with this
"Where in today's life did I act from love, from wisdom, or from drift?"
