Spiritual Grandiosity
Using spiritual identity to place oneself above other people.
Advanced definition
A distortion in which spiritual practice, contact, or framework knowledge becomes a basis for claiming special status, authority, or insight that others should defer to.
Common misunderstanding
Confidence is not grandiosity. The signature of grandiosity is needing others to be lower for the self to feel high.
Misuse warning
Phrases like 'I am a wanderer,' 'I am sixth density,' or 'I am source-aware' used to settle arguments are warning signs.
For reflection
"Would my spiritual identity survive being treated as ordinary?"
