Manipulation
Influencing another while hiding intent or information they would need to choose freely.
Advanced definition
A pattern in which framing, emotion, or perception is shaped to move another toward an outcome they would not consent to if they saw the full picture.
Common misunderstanding
Persuasion with honest framing is not manipulation. The dividing line is hidden intent.
Misuse warning
Self-described 'high agency' or 'spiritual' framing does not exempt manipulation from being a free-will violation.
For reflection
"What am I hoping the other person will not notice while I make my case?"
