Mirroring
The pattern by which what we have not integrated shows up reflected in others.
Advanced definition
A catalyst dynamic in which unresolved material is encountered through people and circumstances that reflect it back until it can be seen, accepted, and balanced.
Common misunderstanding
Mirroring does not erase the other person's agency. They are still themselves; the reflection is for you.
Misuse warning
Using 'they are just a mirror' to dismiss someone's lived experience is a misuse of the concept.
For reflection
"What pattern keeps showing up in different faces in my life, and what is it pointing at in me?"
